CRL’s innovative Nutrition Program provides the best nutrition for total wellness that not only tastes great but looks inviting as well. All of our meals are chef prepared from scratch using natural ingredients. The benefits of our Nutrition Program are evident in that we have few UTI’s (urinary tract infections), few blood pressure/blood sugar issues and little weight loss, which is unusual for seniors, especially those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

The other features and benefits of CRL’s Nutrition Program include:

•    Innovative Approach:  The CRL menu planning includes recipes providing residents with healthy, homemade food products.

•    No Pre-Made Products: The purchasing of pre-made products is not a part of the CRL Dietary Program as these items are full of salt, preservatives and breading. Soups, gravies and sauces are made from scratch.

•    Sugar Free: CRL does purchase sugar free and no sugar added products. We also make sugar free desserts and offer sugar in the raw and brown sugar as well.

•    Brown- Not White: Whole grain breads and pastas are included in the menu planning.

•    Focus on Fruits and Vegetables: Larger portions of fresh fruits and vegetables and smaller portions of meat, fish and poultry are required.

•    Proper Hydration: In our memory care communities the hydration program includes water with all meals in addition to other beverages of choice, two fruit and or vegetable smoothies per day and Happy Hour cranberry martinis. In between, our caregivers pass additional water throughout the day. We also offer a healthy snack menu serving two snacks per day or as needed.
